MIXX Make Up & Hair: Chantel’s Wedding June 30, 2012

Adorable and stunning, all in the tiniest frame ever!  Chantel’s style was completely about glam and sexiness. Light lips, very dark eye liner, with a luscious set of lashes.  Lashes are centre stage, so many options to choose from, all give very different looks – depending on what you’re after.

An item now a staple with most of our brides has to be hair extensions.  For that volume it was a must for Chantel.  I had to laugh when the photographer took the picture below and hers was sitting nicely curled in the background.  Not so long ago, that would have been a shock to most people.  As most bridal trends mirror what’s going on in fashion and with celebrities, it’s definitely not shocking anymore.

Ina oozes sexy, so how else to compliment that than with all down soft curls and slightly pinned up to expose the neck…HOT!  Personally having my hair all down for my own wedding, always impartial to that look.  For her make up, we wanted to create a porcelain skin look keeping it really clean so the eyes would be dark, sultry and pop to compliment that side of her personality.

Jane found MIXX came to us all the way from the UK.

She scheduled a couple of trials and MIXX fell into one of her team choices.  Pulling off her fake lashes and letting down her hair as soon as her other trial was done, we felt we could do a lot better for Jane!  ;)

Black, white and elegance.  Even though the tones were very contrasted at this wedding, Lauren’s simplicity only allowed for soft browns and peaches in her make up.  Thinking maybe she could go for a bolder dark smoky eye, personality almost always breaks through, Lauren being very earthy we had to stick with that to make sure she was ultra comfortable on her wedding day.  We did the same for most of the girls, but went uber sexy and big with the hair.

Such a cutie Jemma is, we tried to get some ballerina shots of her but just didn’t work in the long wedding gown.

Her side swept Do with romantic curls has been the #1 hairstyle for brides in 2011, and I still love it!  Depending on how the bangs are styled, it can work for many face shapes.

So many of our Asian brides are looking for a smoky look.  However not every artist can accomplish this without making it look trashy.  Featured here is Jessie with a smoky eye, and powerful lip. Traditionally we tend to go for a softer pink hue, but for the drama we went all out!

Sona is a natural beauty with long beautiful hair.  As many Indian brides want a more dramatic look, we used some icy shades of shadow but not over the top.  For her hair we gave her long beautiful waves to compliment her Asian Fusion look.

Summer fresh would describe our look for Kristina. Light, dewy, and bronzed.  Pink lip with eye liner only to line the top lid.  Keeping the lower eye very clean.  For her hair, we wanted very loose waives teased to give a sense of airiness.  A centre part added youthfulness to her simple gown.

Mesha’s make up was simple but with a bold lip.  We used her hair extensions in a simple braid that gave volume and softness to her overall look.  A hair pin was a nice touch to show a little dazzle from the side view.  As more brides move away from veils, these little trinkets offer an alternative to more traditional bridal looks. Part of our creative shoot in the summer of 2011, pictures were taken to show the longevity of MIXX make up and hair, shot taken 4 hours into the hot sun!
